Home removals

Moving house, planned from a visit to your home.

Moving house can be stressful, so we start with a consultation at your home. We answer your questions, check access to the property, spot awkward areas such as tight hallways or stairs, and see exactly what needs moving.

  • Full and part loads for flats and family homes
  • Packing on request, quoted at your visit
  • Storage if your moving dates don’t line up

Your free home visit

One of the team walks round with you. It usually takes no more than an hour. We’ll ask to see:

  • Every room, including storage cupboards
  • The loft
  • The garden, sheds, garage and outbuildings
  • Anything that needs extra packaging

Your quote follows the visit.

Business removals

Business moves that keep your working day going.

A business move needs more planning before and after the day itself. We plan around your working hours and your timescales, so day-to-day work carries on.

  • Office furniture
  • Records and archive material
  1. Out of normal working hours

Relocating outside office hours is usually the least disruptive option, so your business keeps running.

  2. Or to your timescales

If the move has to happen during office hours, we work to your timetable with as little disruption as possible.

  3. Storage while you wait

Need to leave before your new premises are ready? We can store your furniture, records and archives in the meantime.

Moving soon? Our moving guide covers labelling, an essentials box and who to tell about your new address.

How is the price worked out?

From what we see at your home visit: the volume of goods, any special-care items, access and transport, packing or unpacking, and any extra services you ask for.

Do weekend moves cost more?

Yes, a move at the weekend costs slightly more.

What if I’m waiting for keys on the day?

If you’re completing a sale on moving day, find out when the keys will be available. Delays getting in can make the move take longer, and waiting for keys may incur an extra charge.

When should I book?

As early as you can. We can provisionally book a date and agree the exact day nearer the time. School and seasonal holidays are our busiest periods, so confirm early if you’re moving then.

A charge may apply if a provisional date isn’t confirmed within a reasonable time.

What do you need to know about my new home?

We can’t always see your new property, so we rely on what you tell us: parking and narrow lanes, low bridges, long paths, which floor an apartment is on, and obstacles such as low doors, narrow hallways or spiral staircases.

Can you store my things between moves?

Yes. If your moving-out and moving-in dates don’t match, we can keep your belongings in our store in Alnwick. Mention it at your home visit, or read about storage.
