Cookie policy
The cookies and similar technologies this website uses, what each one does, and how to change your choices.
1. About cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Websites also use similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage. In this policy, “cookies” covers both. This website is run by Brian & Sons Removals & Storage, Unit 14 Oak Drive, Lionheart Enterprise Park, Alnwick NE66 2EU.
2. Your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept optional cookies for analytics and maps. Nothing optional is used until you agree, and you can change your mind at any time with cookie settings, which is also at the foot of every page.
We don’t use advertising cookies. If you accept optional cookies, the Google map loads automatically. If you don’t, it loads only when you select “Show the map”.
3. Necessary
These keep the website and the quote form working and secure, and remember your cookie choice. They’re always on. Our website is hosted on Wix, which sets its own necessary cookies; we can’t switch these off.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| ses_consent (cookie and local storage) | Brian & Sons | Remembers your cookie choice | 6 months, then we ask again |
| bSession | Wix | Measures how well the platform is working | 24 hours |
| client-session-bind | Wix | Protects requests made by the site, such as sending the quote form | Session |
| svSession, XSRF-TOKEN, server-session-bind | Wix | Security and core site functions. Wix lists these as essential. They’re hidden from page scripts, so our audit couldn’t confirm which are set | Session to 12 months |
| wix-visitor-… (local storage) | Wix | Lets the site and quote form connect to Wix’s services | Until you clear it |
| wixSiteScript:… (local storage) | Wix | Supports the Wix platform script | Until you clear it |
| fedops logger (local storage) | Wix | Platform performance monitoring | Until you clear it |
Wix describes these cookies in its article Cookies and your Wix site (opens in a new tab). Wix also sends performance data to its own servers, which we can’t switch off.
4. Optional
These are used only if you agree.
| Service | Set by | Purpose | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_…) | Shows us which pages and buttons get used, so we can improve the website. Lasts up to 2 years | Only if you accept optional cookies | |
| Google Maps | Shows the map to our premises. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads | If you accept optional cookies, or when you select “Show the map” |
Google explains its cookies at policies.google.com (opens in a new tab).
5. Other services
The fonts on this website come from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address. Google Fonts doesn’t set cookies.
6. Your browser settings
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the quote form, from working. Help for common browsers:
- Google Chrome (opens in a new tab)
- Microsoft Edge (opens in a new tab)
- Mozilla Firefox (opens in a new tab)
- Safari on Mac (opens in a new tab)
